Together with ESA, VITO and GEO, a session was organized on October 28th to explore the synergies between initiatives led by ESA to enhance the use of Earth Observation (EO) data in biodiversity monitoring and foster collaborations among key organizations.
The session demonstrated the flexibility on how the WEED open-source solution complements the guidelines on national ecosystem mapping, being developed through the Global Ecosystem Atlas.
The solution uses state-of-art technologies, as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Reasoning, and enables the integration of EO data, public and national datasets to support, amongst others, the Kumming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF) indicator A.2 and the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAP's).
